As we move into fall, you can feel the breeze and the whispers of the leaves turning assuring us that there is a gentle change coming. I love the tips of the trees with the color that shows us summer will soon be a distant memory. So as we approach the smells of pumpkin spice and apple cider, let us do some baking together this week. Nothing better than to embrace the change and slip into something a little more comfortable.

This week started off great, on Monday went to the doctor, good visit, then we returned home to start off a new adventure. We are now working on recipes for my son and his wife (of course the grandkids too).

I started with a new recipe call Texas milk bread toast, turns out this is something I will make again and again. This was a request from my oldest grandson, I will post these recipes at the bottom. He wanted to replicate the bread he had while on vacation at a restaurant, so I did the research and made his bread. I know you can buy Texas toast but too many additives and preservatives.

The next recipe was just my regular loaf bread, then on to banana nut muffins, they turned out wonderful, what I thought was a mistake actually made them better. These three adventures took me all day and more.

Today, Tuesday, let me see this is what we embarked on, we made homemade granola bars and homemade pasta sauce. Those granola bars surprised me, I love them not sure the grandkids will but they are so good and good for you.

Fall things

Experience the fall by going to the county fair, explore the wonderful events such as the apple festival or even a day with the cool air enjoy a step back in time with Mayberry Days.

I am looking forward to walking around enjoying so many things the county fair has to offer, such as the smell of fair food, the most wonderful sound someone can have to their ears, kids laughing and their shouts and eerie screams. Even though you are walking elbow to elbow with others, just the great feeling of peace thinking everything is ok with the world.

Thank you for reading our post, we will get the recipe posted on next Paiges.
